Claims + Attachements -dentalXchange
We are having problems with DentalXchnage when claims are sent with attachments. Insurance companies say that they do not receive the attachments. DentalXchange says that they were sent. In addition, the narrative section of the OD (Claim note) used to be printed on remarks section of the paper ADA ...

Re: Anybody using Brighter Schedule can share their experie
I told them that we don't ever install any instance of MySQL with the root username and we don't ever install the database with a name "opendental". They were still pretty insistent on getting access to the server.... NOPE! Thanks Arna, we ignored them and they have stopped calling. I had my doubts...

Re: Fee Schedule comparison by procedure codes
I found query https://opendentalsoft.com:1943/ODQuery ... yList.aspx #254 that I exported in to libreoffice. Then applied autofilter on procedure code to get what we wanted.

Re: Fee Schedule comparison by procedure codes
I am trying to create a table/spreadsheet that will show me what each insurance plan pays for a particular procedure code. This is similar to lists-> procedure codes that shows three fee schedules at a time. I am trying to create a table that will show all the fee schedules for our office in one spr...

Re: Windows 10 acting as a server with the 1803 update
I have been using \\ip_address all along and it does work but sometimes during a boot up, network shares fail to connect. If you double click on it, it works fine for rest of the day. I am not sure what is going on.

I would rather have a web app. Then it would be OS agnostic to the desktop clients.

Anybody using Brighter Schedule can share their experience?
Brighter.com has been bugging our office. They want to install a service (as in program running in the background) on our Opendental server and expose the appointments to their servers. The company appears to be legit.
Can you please share your experience if you are using it with OD?

Re: Windows 10 acting as a server with the 1803 update
I have been using IP addresses all along. Now I know why my system did not see this issue. BTW I block port 80 access for all workstations on the router. win10 randomly complains that it is unknown network and disconnects the workstations completely. Have you seen this? There are bunch of articles b...

Re: Help migrating away from gotomypc to network environment
It would probably be a win if I could forego VPN route and use a service similar to "gotomypc" instead Jerry, Is there any specific reason that you are avoiding VPN? some Asus routers come with built-in openvpn servers and clients. You can also convert existing compatible router in to openwrt openv...

Re: Windows tablet, patient forms, and signature
It might take us some time to make the Kiosk experience with tablets enjoyable, in the meantime I would recommend trying out Web Forms which was designed with all mobile friendly devices in mind: http://www.opendental.com/manual/webforms.html Thanks Jason, But web form opens another can of worms in...

Windows tablet, patient forms, and signature
We have a Panasonic tablet PC (Originally Windows 7, upgraded to Windows 10 Pro 32 bit) that has been working reasonably well for some time for filling in forms and digital signature using kiosk feature of OD. Between last few Windows updates and OD updates (so I do not know which one broke it) the ...

https for opendental.com
I have port 80 blocked for all the opendental workstations in our office to prevent random surfing and accidental infections. Our staff cannot access the http://www.opendental.com/contact.html site when they need remote support. Port 443 is open and dental claims pass through without a problem. Keep...

Re: How to install OpenDental trial to Linux server?
I have already moved the images folder to a SAMBA share on a freebsd server and it has been very stable. Next step is to move MySQL and I just came across this thread. In addition to the instructions here and the doc help page on the website, do I need to consider anything else? Any guidance from th...
