Re: Signature question
Procedure locking is actually a feature that you have to enable through a preference. This will allow you maintain tighter security on the procedures and their notes but it may not have the same functionality that you're expecting. If you decide to use this feature I would recommend trying it out on...

Re: List of patients not scheduled for treatment?
I couldn't find an existing query matching what you're looking for. You may want to reach out to the Query Department by using our Query Request Form on http://opendentalsoft.com:1942/ODQueryRequest/QueryRequestForm.aspx . Once you fill it out, you should hear back from them with either clarifying q...

Re: Tooth chart on Treatment Plan
As of 17.1 the preference for turning this on/off has been removed because Treatment Plans now always use sheets. If you would like to remove the tooth chart from the treatment plan you'll want to edit the Treatment Plan sheet. You can do this through the following steps: 1. Navigate to Setup > Shee...

Re: Query for Insurance and Employer
I'd love to be able to know how to write these... Along with the manual page that Chris mentioned there are plenty of free online resources that will teach you some of the basics of SQL/MySQL. W3 Schools has some interactive features that allow you to play with a fake database (good for beginners) ...

Re: OD aplication stop working
We typically find the "duplicate entry for key primary" error when there are sudden crashes to the system and something didn't get logged correctly (usually in the securitylog or securityloghash tables), necessitating a repair to some table. If you are still experiencing this issue you can call in t...

Re: Audit Trail Updates
I just tested this using different databases and did find, as you have been experiencing, that the broken appointments and moved-to-unscheduled appointments would not populate on this report on 16.3. I then tried my 16.4 database and got the results we would normally expect. I am not certain if ther...

Re: Audit Trail Updates
There is an audit trail entry made when the appointment is broke, so no bug. It was just the Query that did not list a patient or appointment when it was broken and not rescheduled. Any idea on how to modify the query to also include any appointment that was simply broken and possibly moved to the ...

Re: Email inbox?
Was reading about the new email inbox feature. Is there a way to set it to leave a copy on the server? When setting up your email in Open Dental you will be using POP settings which will download the messages from your email server instead of interacting with them in the way that IMAP does. So for ...

If you're at the Choose Database screen, verify that the name of the computer in "Server" is your server computer's name (or optionally its IP Address) and that the name of the database is your production database. You should then be able to click OK at the bottom and have it connect to the database...

Hi jason - Thanks for asking! The Sendinc model has been a piece of cake to use. Any time I return to sendinc, or get a secure mes...

The reason: if we mark a patient as confirmed from the first contact (10days out) we want to be able to send only a reminder, not a text / email where they have to press "confirm" again. Is there a way to do this? If you're using eConfirmations (the automated confirmation system we provide) then yo...

Re: How to edit insurance payment for attached check?

If you need to correct an insurance payment you will have to first delete ...
