Re: bulk email to patient list
There is not currently an automated way to send mass email from within OpenDental. Your best bet right now would be to export a report (the Patients Raw report will probably suffice to get the info you need) and use a third party app like MailChimp to send the emails. There is also a feature request...

Re: Billing email/print issue
If you have patients with an email billing type but no email address, the billing list should, after it has run, tell you that there were some statements that were skipped due to a "missing or bad email address." The patients that did not get a statement should then remain in the billing list so tha...

Re: how to follow up on NP who dont schedule?
If your patients have been in and have recalls setup, then the recall list is what is normally used to track communications between your office and the patient. With recalls set up correctly, you can define which patients show on the list and how long they should stay off the list after contacting t...

Re: Planned Appointments buried under completed appointments
Even though the planned appointments show up on the bottom of the grid, the scrollbar should automatically jump to the very bottom, showing you what that patient has planned and scheduled most recently. I think because of this, the fact that the oldest completed appointments show on top hasn't bothe...

Re: brand new hardware nothing but problems
If your problems are mostly confined to OpenDental, then I might suggest attempting to restart the server after hours and seeing if your speed picks back up. It seems like the oldest trick in the book, but we've seen similar issues where upon restarting the server, all the connections to the mySQL s...

Re: Insurance Aging Report
While the report that you've been using is not an aging report, it should still be pulling up all open (sent but not received) claims. If it comes up blank, then perhaps you do not have any outstanding claims as defined by the report. What exactly are you looking for when you say you want an insuran...

Re: How about this report?
I was just looking through some of the query examples and found #1022. Is this close to what you want? You can edit the dates at the top to what you want them to be. /*1022 Procedure code totals by ProcCode and provider for completed procedures with completion date in date range.*/ /*Showing product...

Re: How about this report?
If you haven't found anything that suits your needs, please feel free to submit a query request online outlining exactly what you need from your report. If you mention that you need the report by Friday, we will do our best to accommodate your needs (though expedited reports tend to be more costly)....

Re: copy/paste records?
One thing that you can do is download and install a PDF writer, then set that as your default when you want to create an electronic copy of the patient's progress notes. We use the free version of CutePdf: http://www.cutepdf.com/ That saves you the time and resources of having to print them out and ...

Re: Search patient chart notes
Hello Doctor! If you're referring to the notes that show below the tooth chart in the chart module, then this query will get the job done. Simply change the value of NOTE to whatever you want to search for. If you leave the '%'s in, it will search through all your chart notes that contain the field ...

Re: Viewing HMO, vs PPO patients at dance in OD
Hello, I'm a little confused as to what you are looking for. If you already have patients marked as having HMO or PPO Plan types, you can go to Setup > Appointments > Appointment Views to edit the available fields that display on the schedule. If the field that you would like to display on the sched...

Re: Printing form issue
Hello, I'm not sure if you mean your problem is with the textbox, or with drawing string using graphics.drawstring(). For the former, make sure you have your textbox's multiline bool set to true. For the latter, you may pass in a rectangle object when using drawstring() to define an area that the te...

Re: Clinic restrictions
Hello! In 15.2.20 and up, there was a fix labeled "When logging off and logging back on, the user could see the computer preference clinic even if they were restricted to another clinic," which should be fixed now. If this was the issue that you were encountering, then my suggestion would be to upda...

Hello Nathan,
You can import custom sheets into Open Dental by going to Setup -> Sheets, and clicking the "import" button at the bottom of the window.
Hope this helps!
