Nice --- I do use claim connect. I guess longterm the ideal is that all cleareinghouses can do eligibility checks for all insurances, but a shorter term goal might be to allow the user to select from whichever website is most likely to give the best information. For example, dental dental patients a...

You don't need to stop the service to make the backup. You only need to stop the service to restore the backup to your home computer. And yes, the built-in backup seems to not work very well. Is that true even when using a proprietary backup program, or only when backup up with OD's backup? My serv...

Backup
I am backing up OD using proiprietary backup software, but I like the idea of doing an archive CD and verifying my backup, which I hav not been able to do with my portabe harddrive backup. I am experiencing a problem in this regard, however. First of all, I do not have a cd burner on my server, and ...

Sorry, should have been more specific. Version 5.0.21. You hit the nail inon the head ---- I referenced a jpg in my logo which I had then removed from the stationary (see next bit). Removing the reference to the iamge fixed the problem. YOU are also right --- it shouldn't hav ehappened that way. Aft...

Can't print letters.
I can print stationary letters without a problem. But when I try to print a simple letter, open dental tells me the printer is not available. This is with all three printers, which clerly are avaiable sinc ethey work form every other area of the program. This seems to be an open-dental glitch. Any i...

I did not mean popup in the sense of the popup on the appoinment screen. What I meant was that when I try to CHART a non-patient, a box should tell me "This person is NOT a patient. Are you sure you want to enter a chartentry". My asisstant did an entire charting into the child's chart (let's call h...

Thanks, but actually I would like to print up a statement WITHOUT any insurance estimate at all (NOT an insurance estimate which doesn;t afect the balance, but NO estimate at all). We can put 100 disclaimers on there but som epatients (this one in particular that I'm printing the statement for as we...

Hiding NON-patients
On the list of patients there is an option to hide inactive patients. AM I the only one who wants to be able to hide NON-patients as well in some screens, such as the charting area. IN a pedo practice it's a pain to have the screen cluttered by all these non-patients (parents), and especially in the...

Statement without insurance estimate?
Can I print a statement without the insurance estimate? It's just misleading to patients sometimes, and creates a fals expectation. On that same note, I think there should be an option to check a box for an insurance plan which would calculate the insurance portion for posterior composites based on ...

(1) how do I lock a note? (2) when I run the report on incomplete notes, I'd like to be able to clkick on those notes and go to them instead of printing it out and finding each note. Like th eway a planned appointment list can be clicked on to link to the appontment. (3) I am wondering how many othe...

Procedure Notes
Just wondering if anyone would be interested in sharing their default procedure notes. I am pediatric so I don't need that many codes setup. But if anyone could share their procedure notes for: amalgam, composite, D0140, D0150, D0120, and codes for composites as well, I'd really appreciate that. If ...

CHARTING is refreshing slowly
I know someone else had the same problem, but they changed their graphics card, something I can't do. I don;tkow exactly which upgrade caused it, but of these cause the charting to slow down tremendously even with acceleration. Any hint as to why and how to fix it?

2 copies of OD
I like the idea of 2 copies of OD. Is there any risk of screwing up the database by entering in two different places on the same record? Shoudl I be using different paraemters on each copy sop I know which is which, or does it not matter? SHould one be mainly for viewing and a second one for data en...

Notes on scanned docs, old forum
(1) WHere can I find all the old forum posts and search them? I ask that first because my second question may be answered there. (2) When I scan a medical hisory, I then need to review the medical history and perhaps add some information to it such as my own notes on what the patient wrote --- and o...
