Re: Perio exam/charting showing "DOC" instead of hygienist
Thanks Jason! It gets set to the patient's primary provider which is set via the Edit Patient Information window. https://www.opendental.com/manual/patientedit.html It would be a feature request to override the patient provider with the provider linked to the user currently logged in (if the user is...

Perio exam/charting showing "DOC" instead of hygienist
Hello, I did a quick search, but didn't see anything related. I just noticed today that perio exams are indicating "DOC" for the provider instead of the hygienist. (In the "Exams" list in the upper let corner of the perio chart window.) Shouldn't it default to the logged in user (the hygienist)? Am ...

Re: Changing deceased account Guantor
That will work in most cases, but it will only fetch deceased guarantors from patients who are currently an active patient. If the patient is archived or are also deceased, it won't fetch the guarantor. I think the simplest way to fetch deceased guarantors is to find all patient rows whose PatNum=G...

Changing deceased account Guantor
Hello, I couldn't find anything on this, but am looking for a script/SQL to create a list of deceased patients set as account Guarantors. Would be even better if it would place the next oldest family member as Guarantor. :) Looking to identify deceased Guarantors to prevent statements being addresse...

Re: Credit card payment showing twice in Deposits
You should update to the most recent v16.3 because it sounds like "When processing a payment, extra paysplits might be created" which was fixed in v16.3.47 http://opendentalsoft.com:1942/ODBugTracker/PreviousVersions.aspx#16.3 I recommend running DBM after updating which might clean it up or descri...

Re: Credit card payment showing twice in Deposits
It could be a bug in the version you are at and if you are at an older version, a newer DBM might be able to help you. I instantly think of paysplits to other patients / hidden patient with same name / etc. If you can't track it down feel free to give us a call. Our techs are pretty good at finding...

Credit card payment showing twice in Deposits
Hello, I'm not sure how, but I have a patient's credit card payment showing twice (two entries) in Deposits. I added one to the correct day's deposit slip, but the other entry is still haning out there. Patient's Account only shows one entry. I've run the Database Maintenance tool, but it didn't see...

Thanks - that got it. Query #958 get most offenders but not all. Insurance payment not finalized error message
Hello, I'm encountering an error message when trying to run reports ("Reports" -> "Standard") which states: At least one insurance payment is not finalized. Reports will be inaccurate until all payments are finalized. See query example in the online manual #958, "Claims with payments entered by no c...

Re: Open Dental "SetupFiles" directory and contents
There is no need to keep the old setup files. We automatically back them up because many offices call in with update problems and often times want to go back to the last working version because they chose to update during working hours or at lunch time which is not recommended. Feel free to delete ...

Open Dental "SetupFiles" directory and contents
All: I apologize if this has been asked before (try searching on "setup" and see how many results you get!), but is there any reason to save old Setup_*.exe files? I've been using Open Dental since 2010, so you can imaging how many updates/upgrades have been done, resulting in many such files (over ...

Excellent! Thanks - I'll upgrade tonight.cmcgehee wrote:It is indeed a new upgrade. We added the ability to run the report for a date range in 16.2. In 16.3 we added the ability to choose provider and clinics and to include procedures with no notes for a day and procedures with unsigned notes.

Hi everyone, A quick question - when I run the standard report "Incomplete Procedure Note" I do not get any configuration options (e.g., specify/select clinic, provider, or date range as indicated in the online user manual). Is this a relatively new upgrade to the report? I'm currently running Open ...

"Assignment of Benefits (pay provider)" on Edit Insurance

A question about clinics and restrictrions. I've set up a test environment (Open Dental 14.1.18.0 running in Oracle Virtualbox) and have created multiple users assigned and restricted to two separate clinics. When I login as one of the restricted users, I can view the entire schedule (for both clini...

Re: Question on migration to Linux
% is a wildcard. There are different ways you can handle wildcards. I think leaving it blank is one option. Also, explicitly using an ip address is another option. But keep in mind that there is a difference between an ip address and a computername. See skip-name-resolve in the mysql manual. As you...
