I need to replace an older desktop windows pc that has functioned as an Open Dental workstation. I noticed there are mini pcs that are much smaller than the desktop pc.

Any experience, recommendations?

We are in the process of replacing our seven year old desktop server. Amazon lists quite a few "renewed" desktop computers that exceed the minimum specs for running open dental. Do these "renewed" window pcs last as long as the new ones?

Our office is now on our third patient contact system. We have used Lighthouse, Revenuewell and now Modento. Recently changed to Revenue Well from LH360...still in the learning curve.

We currently use Lighthouse 360 for patient contact management. Appointment reminders are sent via text, email, etc. Lighthouse does have a few extras such as email newsletters, eblast etc. Can texting from Open Dental rival what Lighthouse does for our office.

At times an employee might come in the office after hours to post insurance payments. Is it to possible to post any payment to the next day or any future date for that matter?

Unable to post future dated insurance payments when box is checked

Suppose someone comes in on a Friday or weekend and posts payments both regular and insurance. How can those payments be made so that it shows up on Monday's transactions and daily deposit?

Recently connected Focusdent MD740 to a workstation. I can can capture and save images in Prof Suni (Apteryx). My problem is that I have to click the "Capture" button on the screen. How can I connect the MD740 capture button to the image software?

We have been using Open Dental since 09/2010. Is the Supply Inventory section something that is worth utilizing? Our dental supply staff member uses sticky notes and a clip board and seems to perform her task well. Thoughts, opinions please....

Can I attach a .PDF or imbed a web address with the appropriate instructions?

Is there a way to send post op instructions via email to a patient after treatment that would be "triggered" based on procedure code?

e.g. Post Op instructions for extractions when procedure code 7210 is entered....maybe even a .PDF file?

Our office has been an OD user for over a year. We have not restricted any user settings in Setup>Security. We are paperless. Suggestions on which settings to check or particularly uncheck?

Is there an intraoral camera that can be connected via USB that integrates with OD? What about the ones on ebay? Even if the user captured an image to a folder on the pc and then imported that image into OD............ advice.

In regards to the cash entry field on the quickbooks deposit slip, has that been corrected? We are ready to order and utilize the preprinted forms but not if the cash amount has to be written in. That defeats the purpose of allowing the system enter all of the information. Comments please. Thanks, G...
