Recall & Preferred Contact & Twilio

Post by asanders » Mon Aug 30, 2010 4:37 pm

How tightly integrated is the recall list to preferred contact? The reason I ask is that we send out postcards and make phone calls for recall currently. For those patients that prefer to be contacted via e-mail - or text messaging for that matter - it would be nice for open dental to exclude those patients from the post card list. Furthermore, I'm been discussing with my brother possibly using Twilio to automatically send on e-mails and texts to patients.

Is this at all reasonable or clear?

If you decide to go down the road of implementing an interface to Twilio, I'd be happy to share the lessons we learned from implementing our automatic phone and text message module. Security was a huge concern of ours and allowing open http or https traffic between an office and an external PBX box was out of the question.

Just looking at options. I would like something automated. Jordan? Ideas?
