Confirmed Status when appt is moved

I noticed that when we move an appointment off the Unscheduled List to a new appointment, the status of the appt doesn't change. If it was previously confirmed it remains confirmed. I vaguely remember that some time in the past it used to reset to NotCalled whenever an appt was moved. Was that an intentional change and if so why? I would think it would be better if it reset.

A user brought this up to me recently also - but she was referring to when an appointment is rescheduled to a different day. It would be great if the status was reset in both situations.
I don't think clearing the status automatically has ever been a feature - when I asked a couple years ago the answer was it was a training issue.
