Email - remove Attachments, re-send & failed send

Post by zt22 » Tue Apr 12, 2011 4:43 am

Upgraded to 7.2.46 a little while ago and loving all the new features, but there are some little things that really bug me, and I am wondering if there's a way to do/fix them, I'll post related questions in different posts so it doesn't get too long.

So about emailing from the Patient account:

1- Once I attach a file, I cannot remove it. I see there is a Remove/Rename option on the right-click menu but they are both grayed out. I have only one workstation on which the remove is not grayed out - Am I missing a DLL?, wrong version of .NET? ...

2- If the send fails (timeout/wrong password) it still marks the email as sent AND prevents me from re-sending any Sent emails (see next). So I have to redo the whole email.

3. WHY no re-send of sent emails? I can imagine many situations where a re-send of an email may be needed: (situation in 2), wrong email, missing attachment, ...etc.

Some of these workstations are XP and some are Vista so it's not that. Thanks for the help.

1. I don't understand. Do you mean initally before you send? Or do you mean when you open it up later? Sequence of button clicks that you used would help immensely.
2. Wouldn't this not be a problem once you set the password properly?
3. No particular reason. It just falls under the category of a feature request.

Thanks for the response.

1. I just tried it for a newly created email and the menu is not grayed out, here is what I did:
Press: Email, then Attach, select file, OK, right-click on file, I am able to {open, remove, rename} .

However, if I save the email after attaching a file (still an unsent email), and I open the email, right-click on file attachment, I am able to {open} only, {remove, rename} are now grayed out. (edit : happens on all workstations, no exception)

Same situation happens if the email has been sent, but unless I am able to resend an email, this is not an issue right now.

2. Yes, it wouldn't be an issue once the password is set, but it also happened with a timeout (i think the attachment was too large that time) and it was still marked as sent. I am just concerned that it's incorrectly marking an email as sent when it isn't, but I guess I can always refer to the sent email folder for the email account I am using.

3. ok.
