I am switching my computer over to a Mac running Parallels. I have intsalled Open Dental and it is running fine. When I go to restore my backup, everything seems to work fine and I can see all my data. If I try to change anything or close the program and try to launch it again, I get an error message that says that the table is read only.
Thank you for any help!

Re: Problem Restoring Backup
How did you "restore your backup"? Are you talking about manually moving files around, using our internal tool, or using some other tool?

Re: Problem Restoring Backup
Is the error message about "read only" happening when you close OD or when you relaunch it. If it's the former, that sounds totally harmless.

Re: Problem Restoring Backup
After restoring the database, I could see all my appointments and patients. If I go to change anything, I get an unhandled exception saying that the table is read only.
After I close OD and then relaunch it, after the choose database window, I get the small box that says preference is read only and then the program stops.

One more thing.....
That same copy of the database works fine on my old windows computer and doesn't get these errors.
Thanks!

I don't know. I would suspect MySQL permissions. http://www.opendental.com/manual/passwordsmysql.html Parallels shouldn't behave any differently than any other Windows installation, so I don't really thing it's related to Parallels. You used our installer for MySQL. Were you logged in as an Admin?
