changing servers

Post by roybloom » Wed May 06, 2009 3:51 pm

OK, so I got a server. I wanted to install open dental to it and use my flash drive to back everything up to it. I have tried using the trial version....using setup from the a-z and all it says is

unable to connect to any of the specified MySql hosts

Ugh...I was hoping to try out Logmein tonight

Did you install this computer as a New Server or as a New Workstation. Do you have MySQL installed on the computer you can check by right clicking on My Computer and go to Manage then you double click on Services and Applications and then double click on Services in that list you should have a Mysql if so it needs to be started. If not then you need to install mysql. Or it could be your firewall or an antivirus software blocking it.
