Is it possible to set up OD to use a remote server over a VPN? I have 2 offices and I want to keep the databases separate yet want to access each database from the other location. This way, one office can make appointments for the other office when they are not in. Also, patients could walk into either office and their records would be readily available. I've set up the VPN and mapped drives to each servers OpenDentImages folder, but can't seem to get open dental to use the remote server.

Yes, it's definitely possible and being done by many users. Are you stuck on the ChooseDatabase screen? Try using IP address for the server in that window.
