I dont think I want to know...

Among my practices is included a very small part time (6 days a month) office that I "share" with my fiance. Because we both have heavy other obligations, this small office must be "mobile centric" meaning we operate and administer it from just about anywhere. Anyway, we've been enjoying OD on a single Win 7 laptop for awhile, carrying the SQL database around with us or with an employee. We need to move to more hardware and have some way to access the database remotely from "workstations' added to our stable. We likely will never need or desire a typical LAN network (at least in the forseeable future).

I am FULLY aware of all cloud options as I use a robust cloud app to operate my 6 ortho offices. OD was chosen because of great reviews and modest cost, and I'd love to stay with OD for this small office for this reason.

I can make my way around networking to a fair degree, but dont have the time involved for "unique" setup situations. I've eliminated all the remote login services as options for "connecting" my PCs because the login requirements and slow performance drives me nuts.

Am I going to be left with using the OD mobile app with all its limitations, or is there some decent way to create my own "cloud' between my "server" with the database, and my new "workstations"?

I know Jordan and his gang are getting a lot of action on this topic because of the increased mobility of dentists and their clients, and better IT situation when SAAS is employed......
