Unhandled exception Error Sending E-claims

Just updated from 7.7.12 to 7.7.17 and now we can't send e-claims today. Not sure if it is something with the update or a claim out of wack:

Tried Database Maint, but that didn't help. Anyone else having this problem or is it localized to my database?

downloaded newest update from SVN..."Sending e-claims from rennaisance and tesia threw an exception." but didn't help my problem. we have claim connect. Thanks

I have not changed any providers, so is this a problem where a claim has an invalid provider?

Yeah. The only way I could see it crashing on that line is if there were no billing provider for the claim. But all claims are created with a billing provider.

My system is crashing multiple times per day since updating the program last Friday. It doesn't seem related to e-claims, though.

Our message says, "Unhandled exception" "Out of resources when opening file ... err 24

You should be good to update to mysql 5.5 now. Make sure to upgrade OD first. We plan on going live with it over the weekend. Should make for an interesting Monday.

I bet the MySQL "out of resource" error occurred right when a claim was being created and so it is invalid...

I read a lot about the "Innodb" being default now for MySQL 5.5. Not really sure what that is or what it means...just remember discussion about it long ago...Is this how our database for Open Dental is or not? Do I set this as default in my settings? Don't know if that only effects new databases or will automatically convert if not that way.

We could switch to Innodb, but there would be the following problems:
1. You end up with one file that stores all databases. That means you can't just copy files to back up.
2. We don't use transactions anyway, so there would be no new features as a result.
3. We would have to "convert" everyone. That's inconvenient and time consuming for everyone.
#1 is the issue that really gripes me. We couldn't get a copy of anyone's database for troubleshooting without significant effort in new tools for that purpose.
