Random Primary Key

Can we get out of using random key to use key range for servers featured in version 6.8.? Is there any advantage to do so if it is possible to switch to using key range?

Yes, you can start doing that immediately. No risk. It still uses random primary keys, but just keeps them within a range. Set your range large enough to provide some good healthy breathing room for the new keys.
