Hello all,
we used to use the 10.04 LTS as our mysql server and today I upgraded it to 12.04. the issue is that the mysql version is upgraded to 5.5 and looks like the opendental is complaining and ask to "upgrade" it to 4.1. how should I by pass this?
Thanks very much for your help.

Re: help on the mysql version issue after upgraded ubuntu
You need to have upgraded Open Dental before upgrading mysql.
http://www.opendental.com/manual/mysql55.html
There is no other way to solve your problem. So either roll back your ubuntu update, or else move your database to another computer that's running a lower version of mysql. Then, upgrade Open Dental, test that it's still working. Finally, do your ubuntu update or move your database back to your original server. This is why it's important to:
1. Not be running an ancient version of Open Dental.
2. Use Windows if you want your life to be easier. (Windows would not have updated mysql as part of an OS update.)

just copy your database over to a windows mysql server using sqlyog community edition, update Open Dental to a new version, then you can copy your database back to your Ubuntu server.
Re: help on the mysql version issue after upgraded ubuntu
The quickest way to fix this situation is to manually run the Setup.exe for the new version of Open Dental on each workstation (unless you have a lot of workstations then you should do one of the above suggestions). That setup file is located directly in the OpenDentImages share. If that setup file is old, one other place to look is in OpenDentImages\SetupFiles. If that doesn't exist then your only options are the ones mentioned above.
The best thing about a boolean is even if you are wrong, you are only off by a bit.
