Submitting a claim using the API

We are looking for an API for submitting a claim that, when we call it, uses Open Dental's currently configured clearinghouse to submit the claim to that clearinghouse in its current state. Is there an API that does that now? I've looked through the claims API but there wasn't any mention of such an API there.

If that API does not exist, would that be the kind of API endpoint we could request be added?

You are correct. There is not currently an API endpoint that submits claims to a clearinghouse.

We will research if this is something the API can do, and I will reply to this thread with more information in the next couple days.

Thank you for your patience on this request. We are able to create an endpoint for sending Claims, but it would only support DxC and EDS clearinghouses. Would you like us to add this to our development list?

It is very likely we'd find this feature useful even with those limitations but we don't want to make the request unless we're sure of that. We'll come back here and request this feature if it is decided that we would use it as described.
