Security section lock

Was exactly does the lock do in the security section? Is this the HIPAA lock? Thanks

and, as you can see from the screenshot, it explains it from within the Open Dental program as well. I wouldn't say it's really related to HIPAA. I would say it's more of an embezzlement prevention lock. It is also useful for accounting if you are using accrual instead of cash basis.
