Time Card Fraud

Post by teethdood »

I've been noticing my employees having the exact same clock in events in the morning, meaning 1 of them would arrive early and clock them all in. I let them come in an hour early to get things ready, but they are abusing it. How can I make it to that only the logged in employee can clock in/out for himself/herself? Thanks

Get a biometric (eg thumbprint) timeclock.
Or install cameras in your office (which are a valuable safety device anyway), and warn them that you can see what time they come in from the video and will take fraud very seriously.

password protect their OD logon and then you can up the security to only let that user do their timeclock

I suspect the problem he's having is that they're using each other's passwords...

Ive also been wondering how to prevent someone from clocking in/out for someone else.

with the "edit all timecards" chosen an employee can clock everyone in and out with their own log in name. I created a test account as a standard user, and that account let me clock in / out for anyone. I want it so they have to log into their own name to clock in/out. makes no sense to let them edit everyones time card. I know i can audit it but it seems like a simple security fix could solve a lot of hassle.

The only person who should have that permission is the office manager.

ahhh now i see. when i tried to uncheck "edit all time cards" i was clicking on someone other than TESTs name and that brought up the security dialog. Did not notice that if i clicked employee "TEST" i could infact clock in and out... i assumed it was giving me that dialog regardless of whos name i clicked.
