Edit procedure description

Post by EagleRidge »

The box is grayed out so it is uneditable...

I was adding some new codes and I typed the wrong description. How can I change that after the fact?

Thanks is advance.

If the procedure code you used is an ADA code, the description will be not editable. The only way to set the Description back the default for that code would be to run one of the Procedure Code Tools. However it sounds like you may be talking about a Proc Code and not a Description. The Proc Code field cannot be edited. For more information see our manual http://www.opendental.com/manual/procedurecodeedit.html

It's D5864. It was not previously in the list of CDT codes, so I tried to add it to the list. It is a Maxillary Partial Overdenture and I accidentally typed Mandibular. I can change the Abbreviation but not the description.

Is it stuck like this forever, now?

You can edit it back to the copyright description by running the D code Tool in the Procedure Code Tools.

Additionally- layman's terms will replace the description in most parts of the software. I still recommend you run the tool, but you can use a layman's term, if you want.
