I have revisited this problem several times over the past 6 years, to no avail. I've tried it with all versions of Windows, from XP to Win 10 Pro, 32-bit & 64-bit.
I finally gave up trying with an HSB pad and I switched to a Topaz BSB signature pad, which is designed to work remotely.
I was in touch with Topaz tech support and followed all of their instructions. I am able to sign in other programs but still can't sign in an Open Dental signature box.
I am on O.D. version 17.2.23
My home machine (the client) runs on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
My office machine (the server) also runs on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
I am using Windows Remote Desktop Connection
I am able to send a signature remotely to the Topaz Demo app.
I am able to remotely open a PDF with Adobe Reader DC and sign it.
I am able to remotely open a PDF with PDocSigner.exe and sign it.
The problem must be with Open Dental and not with the Topaz pad or software.
Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem might be? A missing dll or something like that, perhaps?
Is anyone able to sign remotely using Windows Remote Desktop Connection?

I just tried it both ways. Same. No signature.
It has to be something else in the way OD receives the signature, since it is working in other programs.
