HTML code in emails
HTML code in emails
I thought I saw it on one of the updates, but I don't see it now.
Can we use html code in the email templates yet?

Re: HTML code in emails
As of 18.2 the only place that has HTML capabilities is the Edit Email Message window. The email templates that are used in this window can be set up as HTML; you would just have to copy some HTML text into the template. Other templates throughout the program (eConfirmations, Web Sched Recall, etc.) are not setup for HTML, but we are working on them.
Re: HTML code in emails
HTML templates are not integrated with the new HTML code in emails that was implemented in version 18.2. However, now that we have implemented the technology behind allowing HTML in emails feature requests like #7575 "eReminders & eConfirmations use HTML email", which are template related, can be completed (feature request #7575 is currently in progress FYI).

Re: HTML code in emails
Thanks guys!
Can I do the whole email in code or just links and typeface and such?
Edit: doesn't seem to work. I am putting just some simple code into the email template, and it sends it as code.
I'm on 17.4 though - would it work in 18?

Re: HTML code in emails
You can send any HTML code that you want. And you will need to be on version 18.2 which is currently in beta.
Re: HTML code in emails
thank you.
The latest 18.2 version is 18.2.17 at this time. That's pretty early in the cycle, isn't it? In the past, these early releases were pretty buggy.

Re: HTML code in emails
The build portion of the version ([major].[minor].[build]) is a poor judge of where a version is within the "cycle". A better indicator would be the date that a version was released in comparison to right now. E.g. v18.2.1 was released on 7/16/2018 which means that v18.2 has been released to the public as beta for a little over one month. I would argue that that is pretty early in the cycle.

Beta versions are known to be buggy which is why we tell our users on the Update window itself:

So it is ultimately up to you when and if you want to take the plunge into our beta version(s).This beta version will be very functional, but will have some bugs. Use a beta version only if you demand the latest features. Be sure to update regularly.
