Releases stopped being posted and developer emails stopped

Post by mowgli »

Hello, just inquiring about inactivity since mid-December in the SVN repository, and also a pause in emails from developers_opendental@opendental.com. The last email I received was about r30637 on the "head," on 12/13/21. Also, it looks like the last SVN revision for v21.3.35+ was r30634 on 12/13/21. But the current version as specified on the Previous Versions page is 21.3.42. Normally, there's never been a lag time this long in the years I've been following the source code, so I thought I should check how things are going! I did check to see that the SVN config hadn't changed at https://www.opendental.com/site/sourcecode.html.

We switched to GIT! The new GIT repository is not public, so our plan is to push copies to a public GIT repository on github. We have not started doing that because nobody was clamoring for it.

That's awesome to hear! Git is much more common, so being able to review the code in a familiar environment will be a huge benefit. Please let us know as soon as the public repo is available and where we can find it.

Although a bit late, I would like to officially clamor for it! Having the code gives us great insight on what the program is doing, of course.
Will check out the new home at GitHub.
