Update dynamic plan amortization schedule

I would love to be able to update the amortization schedule (installment dates) of a payment plan. We allow the payment and scheduling flexibility on our side, and our mutual customers would LOVE for the schedules to match. They match on creation, however, occasionally life happens and the practice gives the patient a little more time on a particular installment, but right now we have no way to automatically update Open Dental for them and they have to do it twice. The API generally cannot do anything that Open Dental itself does not support. Dynamic Payment Plans can be updated with PayPlans PUT Dynamic. This can update the plan terms, such as payment amount/number of payments, charge frequency, first payment date, APR, and note.

If you are trying to update the plan terms, that endpoint may already do what you need. If you are trying to make Open Dental match a custom schedule generated outside of Open Dental, that is not supported through the API.

As of version 26.2.18, our PayPlanCharges resource now includes POST and PUT endpoints that allow you to create new and modify existing PayPlanCharges for Dynamic Payment Plans, including ChargeDate. Additionally, PayPlanCharges GET now accepts a new includeProjected URL parameter, which will let you see expected future PayPlanCharges for the supplied Dynamic Payment Plan. These all should allow you to oversee and fine-tune the charges for Dynamic Payment Plans any way you'd like.
