Lab slips & fluoride

our office is chartless and love the software, but there a few things we would like to see. I think for us to be able to print the lab slips that are created. This way we would not have to still write indivdual lab slips to send with the cases. Also in the insurance breakdown it would nice to have an area for sealants. Each insurance policy has a different age it covers up to and coverage % and that is very helpful information.

We do this now with sheets.
Scan in the lab slip and design the input boxes and text areas and save the sheet. Now you just call up the sheet whenever you want to write a slip. Print it out and OD saves it in the patients file.

We make them all in portrait orientation because we had a problem with landscape but they work great.

Once designed there are there forever.

No. There isn't a sheet type for lab slips. So I wouldn't recommend the workaround that was suggested. You would just end up have to redo all your setup once we officially support lab slips.

im a bit confused about jordans comment are you saying wait until you design a sheet template before designing our own? what if when are some of the sheets that are planned for future versions?

Right. Wait until we have a sheet for that type. It's pretty clear that lab slips will be one of the next sheets implemented.

We have been requesting Lab Slips for a long time now. it is the second highest score on the requests. It will also have a major impact in our work environment for both internal and external lab monitoring. We do and a lot of offices have Cerec to do in house crowns, which is a lab function.

In our case, it will allow us to shut down Dentrix completely which we have not been able to do because we have to still use the Lab management features of Dentrix to print Lab slips.

So that's what you look like, Roger. The documentation for the recently added sheets is still being added. Sheets are currently used for Labels, Referral Slips, Prescriptions, Consent Forms, Letters, Routing Slips, Patient Forms, and Medical Histories. Lab slips is the last obvious sheet that still needs to be added, although there are still others planned, such as postcards, statements, and treatment plans. We have a lab tracking system. I'm surprised that scanned lab slips aren't good enough temporarily. Double entry in Dentrix, really?
