Is OPEN DENTAL compatible with 64 bit Windows? I've not yet bought the s/w, nor the hardware, but it seems that Microsoft is moving to 64 bit architecture. Am I jumpin' the gun?
I found some nice Dell workstations on their re-furb site. Some are available with 64 bit XP or Vista. I plan to stick with XP, as Vista has been a PIA on my home machines.

Yes, but if you're using 64 bit for the server, our installer gets a little bit confused while installing MySQL. Other than that, everything works great.

Hello, Dr S; Are you saying the SQL INSTALL is quirky, but after that, all is well?
I will not be using a server per se, just a Win XP box with 64 bit XP...OK?
OR...do you recommend sticking with 32 bit for now?

Yes, the MySQL install is quirky, and then all is well. By "server", I simply mean the computer running MySQL. If you pick a 64 bit machine for your "server", then we'll have to help you with the install. It would be easier for you to use a 32 bit computer for now. You can easily switch servers later.
