IrisCard Scanner

I am trying to get an IrisCard Pro 4 scanner working with OD for a client. I am testing this on my laptop running version 5.6.22.0 (Trial Version)
When I scan a card in the imaging module of OD, it scans the card and records the information correctly. Then when I go to scan another item, I get the error: "Unable to load default TWAIN device". I can close OD completely and when I open it back up, it does the same thing. It does the first scan just fine and then I get the error on the second one. It is like OD is not "releasing" the scanner or something after the first scan.
Any ideas?
