Is it a problem, when running a backup in OD on the server, to use another computer to do stuff in OD at the same time?

Not a crucial problem. I do it all the time, and I've never had a corrupted database. In any case, it wouldn't cause your main database to get corrupted, but only your backup. And that's not a big deal.
