Statements with payment plans

We are getting complaints again about the statements with payment plans. It is too confusing having the 3 lines for the normal balance and then the payment plan amount also. I think when there is a payment plan, we should hide those 3 lines above and then add a new line or two below the "Payment Plan Amount Due" line. Add the normal balance and then a total of both the payment plan due and regular balance together just like up in the "amount due" box at the top of the statement.

What does everyone think about that? I think it would be much clearer.

Yes, short and simple is better. What is also confusing is when the payment plan for the child is past due however the balance for the guarantor is 0. The other thing is too many lines on the statement due to listing appointments with no charges.

What's this about a major overhaul?

The major overhaul is to allow a middle layer between the client and the database. This business layer will run on ASP.net. It's a web service. The client will not be a browser, but must be a full ordinary version of OD. If/when we get this working, it will allow a better option for multiple clinics on one database. It will also allow good security in enterprise situations, like hospitals and dental schools. It will also allow us to host databases for customers if they want.
