multiple fees for same code

What is the suggested routine for working with two different fees for the same code. The example we see all the time in our office would be 'D1510 - space maintainere - fixed - unilateral'. We charge one thing if we make a band and loop, another if we make a crown and loop, and another if we make a distal shoe. All qualify as fixed unilateral space maintainers, but there is a wide range of time required between them, necessitating different fees.
Thanks,
Joe

You create a second code but add a letter at the end. For example, D1510a could be a space maintainer with band/loop and D1510b could be a distal shoe. You could have a different fee and different description with each code. By the way, if you want a different description to show up, put the description in the box "Layman's Terms" when you set up the Procedure Code and you can have your own custom description show up. This goes for all codes if for some reason you don't like the default description. The last letter of the code you inserted won't print out on your insurance claims so it won't mess up any of your insurance claim processing.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, that helps a lot. I didn't realize the last letter wouldn't print, so that should work great.
