Hello-
I have Vixwin Pro running on Ubuntu 7.04 with OD 5.1.15. I can launch VixWin Pro with the following new Vixwin program link modified like so:
It looks like these program links are somewhat hardcoded now?
Is there a way for me to get a second VixWin program link like I want, so I can run Windows and Linux clients?
Thank you,
Bill Starck, DDS

We have the sourcecode. Nothing is hard coded for us. Time to get out Visual Studio and change how its calling vixwin?

You don't really need access to the source code to do this. Yes, the functionality is hard coded, but not the way they are called. Look at the first box that says Internal Name. All you have to do is add a "Program Link" to the database with the same "Internal Name". Ordinary users can't do this, but power users can. Use a tool like Navicat to add a second one. Actually, I would add one through the program, and then use Navicat to change the Internal Link column. You'll also have to manually add a program link property for picking patnum vs chartnumber. Do it just like for the existing program link, but use Navicat because there's no way to do it from inside Open Dental. This is one area of the program where it's fairly safe to alter the database using Navicat. But try to stay away from patient records with Navicat if at all possible.

Not sure yet.
I have a Denoptics SCSI scanner, so it'll be interesting to see if I can get the ASPI layer working properly.
Alfred, more Diet Coke please!
