Insurance automation

Post by fishdrzig »

I asked my front desk to give me some ideas as to what I could use the new automation in ver7 and she replied "how about automation to remind you to process your secondary insurance claim after posting primary?" Any idea how I could set this up? Thanks

Those are easy to catch by running the claims not sent report.

It would be easier to have OD just prompt us to print the secondary after the primary is paid automatically, is it a request?

Yes, but ALL secondary unsent claims show on that report, even if primary hasn't paid yet. So you have to look up each one to see if it's time to send it or not. It would save a lot of time if they were omitted from the report until the primary claim is marked received. Because of this, we don't take the time to go through that list regularly, so sending out secondary claims can often get delayed unnecessarily.

While we're on the topic of secondary claims, having a column in the "Send Claims" window showing if it's a primary, secondary or preauth would be extremely helpful. We often need to send documentation along with preauths and secondary claims - and not being able to distinguish them in the list makes that difficult. Another issue I have with the send claims window is that you can't sort by insurance carrier - some we drop to paper and in order to do that we have to ctrl-click one by one on the claims that say "Paper". When you have a hundred claims to send that can take awhile. OK, I'm done complaining now. :P

As a programmer, you must remember who your target audience primarily is. The main user of the OD program is the front desk, so if she complains about something that could make her job easier, then it should be taken care of. If I didn't ask, I would not have know this was an issue because I never run these reports myself.

Yes, of course. But we can't take care of 1500 annoyances all in one day. That's why we have the feature request system.
