Appointment Colors

Is it possible to have different colors on the Appointment module calendar for specific appointments?
By default all appointments for the same provider are the same color. My assistant asked because it would be beneficial to have certain appointments stand out from the rest, particularly new patients.
Thanks,

we do this by creating different dummy providers and then assigning the dummy color provider as the secondary provider. IE perio pt distinguished from regular recall and pts that the assistant only needs to see and not the doctor.

Colors by procedure type is a feature request. I haven't seen a request for color by NP, but a great request might be to add a NP field to appointment views to make it more obvious than it is now.

Feature Request #105 - Appointment Color by Procedure Type is slowly getting closer to the top. I am looking for a work-around until this feature is implemented. We do sedation in our office. Our state dental board has changed the law regarding monitoring of these patients. We need to be adequately staffed to monitor these patients so we have decided to stagger sedation appointments so that only one sedation is going on at any give time. We have two doctors and both are sedation trained but still only want one sedation at a time. We would like to make appointments involving sedation a different color so they would be easily identifiable on the schedule and allow our front desk personnel to not "double book" sedations.
Per Dr. Tech's recommendation on a previous post, I tried making a "dummy provider" called Sedation with a unique provider color and assigned this provider as the secondary provider on the appointment. The schedule still shows the provider color of the primary provider which is expected behavior. Any ideas on how I can effect a color change of the appointment when sedation is being done to help out the front desk in identifying these appointments?
Thanks

you have to also check the box..."Is Hyg" right below the secondary provider box in the appt edit window.

Silly related question. What setting allows the little dot on the top right of the appointment that indicates if the patient is in the waiting room, seated or completed?

Make sure to have the appointment view item called 'ConfirmedColor' present. That item will display the colored circle in the appointment box. Each status has a color set via the Appt Confirmed category (I think) from the Definitions window.

Thanks Jason! I figured it out. The assistant clicked the appointment view to "none".
