Change Account Balance Display

1.Is there anyway to change setting so that main Account Balance shows Balance for selected patient not the entire family.
2.If insurance Effective date is entered in insurace, will it pop up or alert if it is expired, on selecting the patient.

1. They both show.
2. Effective dates are pretty much ignored by the system. No popups.
