How do you HIPPA forms with a wireless office?

Post by djanash@mac.com »

Any suggestions on Automating this like once we type in someone's email address a PDF is sent to their email. Also automating signature prompts at the FD.
Were are going paperless as we speak and going through a bunch of growing pains

Any link to a "Paperless" thread would be great I have looked all over for this discussion.
Will try to ask moderators on DT to create a paperless thread there as well

ours isnt automated, but its just a few click to email a form to someone. and when they get into the office my FD mentions to them that we need their signatures on the forms we emailed them, and they sign the topaz at the front desk. we arent paperless though, just chartless.

Right. If it's painful, you should consider going chartless as an intermediate step. Very few offices are paperless, probably only a few in Manhattan or SanFran where all the patients are comfortable with tech.

I am chartless and paperless (thanks to OD), but we do have to hold a lot of patients' hands when they are filling out the forms on the laptop, especially their first time.

A very handy intermediate step is to laminate your commonly used forms and have patient's sign them with erasable ink. You'd be amazed at how cool they think that is. Then just scan them in. Saves a ton of paper
