Why doesn't the downloaded installer ever work?

If anything goes wrong with an upgrade, I'm given the option to download the installer. But this downloaded installer never works - it gives me the option to modify, repair or remove, but none of the necessary files ever get installed. Am I doing something wrong?

Do you have Windows security turned up more than we expect? Is the path to your AtoZ folder normal, or is there something odd about it? What is security like on that folder?
I'm assuming this is on a workstation other than the first machine where you did the actual update? In that case, when you hit such a message, cancel out. Go back to the machine where you did the initial successful update. Go to Help, Update, Setup, and hit the Recopy button.
