Insurance plan list

After a couple of years of using Open Dental, I find that the insurance plan list is getting very large. I would like to suggest a feature where one could mark a plan as inactive and be able to hide it from the list. This would help for example when you have a group of patients that changes their plan every year. In my case we have a large bank that changes insurance companies almost every year, and they have several plans they offer their employees. So in two years time, we have about five or six different plans for that bank. It would be easier for the person that enters the plan information to have the inactive plans hidden when he or she clicks on "Pick From List".

Insurance Plan List

We have just installed Open-Dental, and I am a little stuck on the adding of insurance carriers. The manual states that the list should already be populated, however my list is blank. Do I need to enter all carriers we deal with? Then once those carriers are in, do we enter plan information for each patient, and attach to a carrier?

Thanks for any help with this

I just came across this older post from Jorge and was thinking the same thing. It would be great to hide inactive plans.

OK, I just added it to the future versions page. It's about 1 page down since I don't consider it high priority.

This same topic was on another thread, too. Anyway, it's been added. By the time it was done, there were three separate enhancements involved:
Insplans can be hidden.
Ins Carriers can be hidden.
Carrier list interface enhanced with search, reselection, and plan count.
