Are there any duplex (both front & back) scanners that scan directly into OD?

I want to get a small scanner for Insurance ID cards and drivers licences but I would rather not have save to a file and then import into OD.
for example: www.scanshell-store.com/software_scanshell_pro.htm

Anybody have any experiences or will simple duplex scanning not work with OD?

As far as I know this is a feature request that has not yet had its turn. Jordan might want to weigh in.

No, it's automatic document feeder support that got added in 11.1, not duplex scanning.

Is the new feature scanning to a .pdf or is it still scanning to a .jpg?
If you have a scanner that scans duplex, wouldn't that be the same as scanning page 1 and then page 2 of a multipage scan?

The new feature scans to pdf. I've never used a duplex scanner. As you suggested, it might work.

I'm gonna get one and try. I'll let you guys know how it works out.

We tested it, and YES, it does support duplex (double sided) scanning. That feature is done and ready to release.

Old thread, but I have a question regarding this matter. We have a Canon P-150 (M-150 also) that does duplex scanning (awesome scanner BTW). It seems like this feature could use some improvement. When clicking the single page icon, it prompts which scanner you want to use, and also displays the scanner gui to select settings, etc. When clicking the multiple page button, it does not display any of this information and goes to scanning immediately, sometime causing OpenDental to hang. I'm getting a request from an employee that the duplex is not working at all, I am going to try and look at it tonight, but I think this feature could use some love. I have this scanner at home and could help test. Thanks

What version of Open Dental are you currently using? There have been some changes to the scanning features in recent updates.
