11.1.4alpha Ins estimates wrong

Post by drtech »

I think this only happens when you have a supplemental ins payment, like on ortho, but something is way off on some ins est calculations. The procedure is $3595 and the pt portion estimate is $9785 something.Image

From your screenshot, it looks like you attached the payment to a "Sent" claim instead of a "Received" claim. The claim status needs to be received.

Removed from bug list.

this is the way we always do ortho if they are paid periodically because they are not fully received and would loose track of them otherwise if they ins company didn't keep paying on target. It would be much better to have another status, "Partially received" or something. It used to work fine until this version, then it quit working.

Wow. That's a significant departure from how we designed it. Doesn't it complain that the statuses don't match when you try to click OK? We make the assumption in a number of places that the claim status matches the individual claimproc statuses. If we were going to make any change at all, it would be to enforce that assumption better.

The insurance payment plans feature was designed to keep track of the expected payments.

yes, I use the payment plan feature for other expected payments, but I hadn't actually used it for ortho...but makes sense...
