Periodontal Probings

I beleive that if one begins to be getting upset, one should step back.
Today I need to step back.
My hygenist said, "I didn't chart probing because I didn't have time."

I'm a general office.
I hire a hygenist.
I use OD.

How do you guys handle probings?

Do you chart on paper then transpose to OD, or chart to paper and scan?
How long are your hyg prophy appointments?
What do you expect from your hyienist?

Thanks!

I suggest giving the hygienist an assistant for the 7 minutes that it takes to probe. That's a very good use of both of their time. So straight into the computer.

I use the Florida Probe, bridged to OD.
I is a bit expensive, and has a learning curve of a few months. But once you get past that, it is a cinch to probe. The data is entered automatically in the chart, while the measurements are announced by the computer. It is a great educational and marketing tool to the patient.

I bought mine a long time ago, but if my memory serves me correctly, the entire system software and hardware was somewhere around 5 grand. Check their website, it might be listed there.
