Is there a way to assign an assistant to a patient to help continuity of care? ? ? It seems providers are just for dentists and hygienists right?

You can assign them on each appt. But you can do it for the pt as a whole by creating a custom pt field in the chart and record the assistant name or intials there. You can then have that show on every appt if you like (Appt Views setup) or just look at it in the chart.
