Called support today with this question but my support person did not know the answer and said somebody else would have to "research it"
When you create and send a ClaimConnect claim the workstation that it is being used to send it creates a file on that local workstation C:Claimconnect\uploads. The info in that file if you open the file contains info that HIPAA says should be encrypted. Most offices are only encrypting the server where all protected info is being stored. Is it possible that you can move the Claim Connect files onto the server and store that info in the A-Z folder instead?
Is it necessary to store that info in the claim connect folder on the C: drive? i.e. can I go in right now after a claim is sent and delete that without any problems or does OD need to reference that file?

Re: Claim Connect Question
If you go to Setup->Clearinghouses, you can select ClaimConnect and set the Default Path to a path that is located on your server.
Then you can delete the claims that are currently on the C:\ drive and everything should be golden.

Re: Claim Connect Question
Open Dental uploads claim files directly to the ClaimConnect servers via a secure connection and does not export the files locally. When a claim is "sent", the claim file is uploaded directly to the ClaimConnect server and there is NEVER a point in time where the file is exported to the specified export path. The export path may be required to be a valid path just because that is a basic requirement of all of our clearinghouses even though it is not otherwise used which can be misleading. You can change the export path to anything you want because it is meaningless.
Reports will come back into the specified reports folder, which you could change to a UNC path.

Re: Claim Connect Question
Got it. Changed it to the server drive. Easy fix. Thanks!
