Can any one recommend a time and attendance system for OD that will use fingerprint or hand print technology.
We use ADP so integration with them too would be even better.
Thanks

I'm pretty sure I saw this on the feature request system just fyi guys. I'd like this feature at HQ. I think it'd be pretty slick to sit down at my workstation and have everything logged in and clocked in by the scan of a card / fingerprint.
If only there were more hours in the day...

Jeez, like 15 years ago I wrote a program that used a fingerprint reader to do the same thing. It was a disaster. Multiple people would be recognized as the same person, one employee had no discernible fingerprints and could never log in, etc. I rewrote the program to use the webcam to take a picture of the employee when they logged in. We had a problem with the first person in clocking everybody in and the last one out clocking everyone out...Trust but verify...

The biometric scanner would also be a great feature for patient check in. What would be involved to get a scanner to work with open dental? Here are a couple of scanners on Amazon that have decent reviews along with their corresponding Software Development Kits to save your developers some time.

I've had a couple techno-daydreams on this. It would be pretty cool if you could use NFC tags to Log In. Staff could wear a bracelet, with a reader in a mouse pad, so whatever computer you reach for the mouse on would automatically make sure anything you do would be under your user account.
Or, in an improbably crazier version, NFC tags in the seat of your pants and a reader in chairs, so whoever is in the chair gets logged in. Because, of course, bracelets would be easy to forget or loose, but most people usually remember their pants. *nods seriously*
