Some clinics may found it's useful to send/call patients via mobile phone. Given that the unlimited call/sms plan is now popular, it's much cheaper to use mobile service than SMS providers.

I like it. Nicely done. Can it work with Google Voice?

I tried a while a go but it was not available to send HTTP requests. Just tested with Hangout, look likes it's possible now. Will add to the plugin soon.

OD works great with Google Voice. We use it to dial patients' phones and to bring up a GV window for sending sms texts.

From my understand, current Google Voice plugins either use GVDial or open google contact link to use google voice function. I think using GVDial is more convenient. You can use Skype instead of GVDial but the cost is a bit higher.

However, I'm not sure it has enough integration with OpenDental software for example, update commlog, update appointment confirmation status. And you still have to buy Google credit. I think my approach is to use free credit on your mobile plan.

Anyway, depend on clinic's needs, creating a link to Google contact might be good enough.

I agree that Just a link is OK but it can be improved with this plugin .
It will be much better to have most of Open Dental Features available through Google Voice than just linking to Google Contacts and perform many of the tasks one at a time. Slower process.

All communications with the patient will be part of the patient record , in one place, in OD.
Queries and REPORTS could be created in Open DENTAL,
ETC ETC....

We use the above link to Google Voice, but I think Mopensoft plugin will offer many more options than just a link to google contacts. And Google Voice is Free for dentists in the US, and we do not have to buy GOOGLE CREDIT

I think , for the lower fees that are offered by Mopensoft, it will be good to have that option added to the plugin.

I remembered GV was free but I didn't know that Google Voice is still free in US. It's not free in Aus from day one I think.
Anyway, GV will be there soon as well as sending iCalendar invitation.

I can't use Google Voice or Hangout(desktop) to send SMS in Australia, it only allows phone call. Look like only it's only available in US and CA

Got your 3 weeks trial for your plugin for Google Voice.
The SMS text messaging works GREAT now from OD to Google Voice.
Can you please provide some additional information about the cost of your service and the cost to have a fully functional plugin
