When I place a picture into the patient picture folder in the image section of the program, I notice that when I go to the scheduler the picture has a grid of white dots over the picture. Am I doing something wrong or is there a setting I should change? The picture looks fine when viewed in the image section of the program

that doesn't happen to me...how are you importing the image?

Could that be an artefact from the reduction of a very high resolution picture to the preview image size for the scheduler?

Are you using terminal services or any other remote connection. That happens with our terminal services connection.

yes we are using a terminal service. Funny it only happens on the schedular though. When I view the picture in the image section of the program it is normal.

We are using Apteryx as our imaging software, and use an IO camera. We use the camera intraorally, obviously, but we also take a "shapshot" of their face, just to help me remember who they are. How can I import this to OD so that it will display within the program for me ?
Thanks,
Mike

It's a two step process.
1. Export from Apteryx. I suggest using a simple temp folder such as C:\TempImages\.
2. Import to OD.

I used to take photos w/ IO camera, but bought a microsoft Life Cam (Internet Camera) & had it connected to the front office computer. now our front girl takes a photo of the new pt w/ the internet camera & has it saved to a folder on her computer. She just imports the last file in the folder into open dental.
this is working much better for us then the IO. (the internet camera is $30-$80). i wish someone had told me of this way last year, when we started taking pt photos.
