Has letter merge stopped being supported? I cant seem to get it to print the name of the pt?

It is still being supported. I added a new field to letter merge just the other day. Could you email me the data file, the template, and the letter to chris@opendental.com?

There just seem to be a ton of fields missing. IE the practice name and address, Pts name.

You should add the fields you'd like to see to the discussion on FR #2164 so that we have a record of what customers are wanting. We don't really get requests for the letter merge which might be why you feel it is no longer supported.
The requests we did have that asked for specific fields (#43 and #400) have been completed.

The practice information is something that rarely ever changes, so it could be put into the letter merge template. There is no field 'Patient Name' but there are fields for the patient's LName, FName, MiddleI, and Preferred which can be used to construct the patient's name.

So if you have multiple clinics and you do a mail merge how does the correct address get plugged in for each clinic?

And why not make every possible field available? I will look at exactly what i need and add to the FR list and I was probably request #48 back in 2008.

It would be useful to have clinic info for a letter merge. Currently you have to create a different template for each clinic.

The reason why don't have all the fields that our sheets do is because the letter merge was created a long time ago before we had sheets and it was never converted to use a sheet. If you need additional fields that aren't available in the letter merge, you can probably set up a sheet and create a Patient Letter instead.

It is entirely possible that we will add that to sheets. It is currently FR 4745.

Sheets cant do calculations.
