v17.3.8

Updated yesterday from 17.2

1) Sheet Statements are printing lots of labels and custom items in the wrong places (way down the sheet, etc)
2) Graphics on the tooth cart is blank on Direct X tooth chart on almost all my machines, but not all, the old direct x sdk fix no longer works...i switched to open GL (I know people have been having this issue on other 17.x versions, but it has all worked perfectly for me until this update to 17.3.x)
3) Payment plans - noticed the balances are not correct on our payment plans since 17.2. Pt balance shows total owed before payment plan, then as the payment come due and the pt pays, it adds the payment due and the payment to the account for no reduction in the actual balance. It seems that the initial payment plan amount is not being accounted for (subtracted) from the pt's account. I also don't seem to be able to change the total pt completed field in the payment plan (which is $0 instead of the total amt). I think that is the issue but can't figure out why it won't let me change it.

I added #1 to our bug tracker the other day as "Sheets, changing static text on a referral letter with an image can cause text to hide sometimes." After I looked into it for a bit I found that it does exactly what you're describing. I think I'll change the wording to something like "Sheet Fields that overlap each other have the potential to be moved farther down the sheet than desired."

What do you mean by the graphics quit for DirectX? We did make a change in 17.3.4 (and 17.2.21) to the DirectX tooth chart to fix slowness that was happening on Windows 10 machines, so that change may have caused other problems.

Regarding payment plans, it sound like your preference for Pay Plan Charge Logic may have been changed. If you want it to work the old way, you can change it back to Traditional. This is in Account Preferences -> Misc Account tab.

So, the tooth chart is just blank after updates on almost all my machines, but not all. The old direct x sdk fix no longer works that I used to use...i switched to open GL graphics and it works fine, except for the jagged edges and slow repainting, so figuring out why that change you made broke my direct x display on my machines and how to fix it would be nice.

on the statements: once that is fixed, where do select which sheet is used for the statements? I know there is the checkbox in accounts setup to use sheets or not for statements but I don't see where to select which sheet or is it just the first one as a statement sheet type?

"The custom statement sheet listed first alphabetically will be used. For example, if there are two custom statements named Custom Statement and Walkout Statement, Custom Statement will be used because it comes first alphabetically. If there is no custom statement, the internal sheet will be used."

If you would like us to investigate the tooth chart being blank, you should call in to our support so we can connect to a few of your workstations and troubleshoot/collect information about the machines.

ok, I am not on official paid support as I compile myself, but I am happy to let you look at my machines if that helps you guys figure it out as a beta tester. :) All my machines are windows 10. Most I think are Spring Creators Update. Almost all my graphics cards are nvidia if not all. All direct x worked before updating to 17.3.8...I think I was on like 17.2.4 or some early version before that.

thanks on the statement sheet...thought it was just the first one...but didn't look in the manual :p

We might take you up on that offer. We'll have to see if this how serious of a problem this is and if it affects many users.

I also had a bug prior to 17.3.8 where when I would treatment plan third molar extractions, the teeth would be grayed out on the left half of the tooth chart. I just upgraded to 17.3.8 so I'll let you know if that problem still persists

The bug "Sheet Fields that overlap each other had the potential to move farther down the sheet than desired." has been fixed and will be released with v17.2.26 and v17.3.10.

We haven't heard from any customers on 17.3 about this being an issue, so we have not looked into this yet.

The DirectX issue for 17.3 was submitted and will be looked into by an engineer shortly.

I too called in to support reporting the Direct X problem. My charts are either blank or almost a quadrant or two of teeth are all grayed out. It also throws an exception error and crashes OD.
