Scaning EOBS when posting payments

Post by Cypresspd »

How do I go back to see an EOB after it has been scanned in during the payment posting? Is it necessary to also scan it in the patients images?

You can find the EOB by opening up the claim, double-clicking on the Insurance Payment, then clicking on the View EOB button in the lower left.

Good question!
We usually scanned EOBs into images but maybe attaching them to a claim is a better idea.
Are they accessible through anything else but a claim? where are they stored?

They don't show up in Images, but I think that features should be implemented where they show in on the insurance check and also in the images module under an EOB section like statements do already. Much easier to find later on that way. They should show in both places.

They won't show up in the images. they show up for the claim.
If you have a batch payment for many insurance patients, it won't make any sense to have the same eob with other patients' info in the images section of their file.
It becomes part of their record technically and it might have other peoples info.

I think they way it is now is actually awesome. One of the things i love about open dental.
