Open Dental Forum

I was watching the tutorials on insurance benefits and looking through the manual. I noticed that there are several default categories, however on my Open Dental these defaults do not show up. How can I have these present under my frequency limitations?


In the manual it lists the defaults as:
BWs: D0272, D0274
Pano/FMX: D0210, D0330
Exams: D0120, D0150
Cancer Screening: D0431
Prophylaxis: D1110, D1120
Fluoride: D1206, D1208
Sealant: D1351
Crown: D2740,D2750,D2751,D2752,D2780,D2781,D2782,D2783,D2790,D2791,D2792,D2794
SRP: D4341,D4342
Full Debridement: D4355
Perio Maintenance: D4910
Dentures: D5110,D5120,D5130,D5140,D5211,D5212,D5213,D5214,D5221,D5222,D5223,D5224,D5225,D5226
Implant: D6010

My guess is that you are on an older version of Open Dental. Most of these frequency categories were added in 18.2.

Problem is that the
PANO/ FMX
are hard programmed into OD to count against each other.
There are insurance carriers such as Delta that allow separate FMX and PANO freqs... why lump them together?

My guess is that when we originally programmed this feature years ago, most insurance companies considered FMX and Pano frequencies together. You can add votes to feature request #1916 if you would like to be able to separate them.
