New employee cannot clock in.

We haven't added a new employee in several years so we are rusty. The new person can log in, is a part of the assistant group, he shows up in the employee list in the manage module but the clock-in button is greyed out. What are we missing?

Can you verify that the employee is associated to their user?
1. In the Setup menu, click Security.
2. Double click the user in question.
3. On the User Edit window, select the employee that should be associated to the user and click OK.
